Santana's four hit day carries Giants over Centenary

Flemington, NJ (5-7-11) - Roberto Santana collected four hits on the afternoon, including the game winner in game one, as the Giants held off a pesky Centenary squad to take both ends of the CSAC doubleheader, 6-5 and 5-1.

With the sweep the Giants move to 27-10 overall and 17-1 in the conference, while Centenary falls to 11-24 and 5-13.

On Friday Keystone had the offense clicking against these same Cyclones, knocking out 15 runs on 15 hits,  However, game one of Saturday's twin bill was  much different as Centenary held a 5-0 advantage after five innings.

The Giants offense finally received their wake up call in the sixth when they knotted the score with a five run frame.  Tied after seven innings, Keystone began the extra frame with Esteban Meletiche reaching on an error and eventually coming around to score on a Santana single.

Santana finished with two hits and two RBI in game one, while Kumar Piar doubled as part of his two hit game.  Gabe Torres also doubled for the cause.

Derek Alex worked the eight inning to record the win.

In the nightcap Austin Straub turned in a three hit game, as Keystone snapped a 1-1 seventh inning tie with a four run seventh to complete the sweep.

Andrew Siano and Santana each picked up two hits in game two.

Jeremy Beeching struck out eight in six innings of work to pick up the win.  In twelve inning of work this work Beechig has picked up 21 strikeouts. 

The Giants will jump back into action on Sunday when they travel to Haverford for a 12:30pm doubleheader in what was a late addition to the schedule.

Keystone, which is the number one seed heading into this week's CSAC playoffs, will host Neumann University on Wednesday at 2pm in an opening round game.  Play will then shift to Bear Stadium in Boyertown, PA on Friday and Saturday.
