Top-seeded Griffins advance to Saturday’s conference championship game

Gwynedd Valley, PA – Top-seeded Gwynedd Mercy University advanced to Saturday's Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey championship game with a 5-0 victory over #4 Keystone College in a CSAC semifinal game on Wednesday night.  The Griffins, now 13-5 on the season, will host #2 Cabrini College in Saturday's title game while the Giants end the 2015 season with a 5-11 record after making their first postseason appearance since 2012.

#2 Cabrini defeated #3 Marywood University 2-0 in Wednesday's other semifinal contest to punch their ticket to Saturday's championship game.

Gwynedd Mercy opened the scoring in the 10th minute of Wednesday night's contest as Maggie Walsh netted her third goal of the season by scoring unassisted following a penalty corner.  The Griffins pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 17th minute as Megan Senkeleski found the back of the cage after taking a feed from Katie O'Neill on another penalty corner.
