La Plume, PA – Keystone College's women's basketball team will visit Marywood University tonight for a Colonial States Athletic Conference playoff game. The Giants, who are making their second postseason appearance in the last three seasons, will make the short trip to Scranton for tonight's game against the Pacers which is scheduled to tipoff at 7:00 p.m. in Marywood's Insalaco Arena.
Keystone (13-12, 10-6 CSAC) enters Monday night's first round matchup as the fifth seed while Marywood (16-9, 11-5 CSAC) is the fourth seed in this winter's conference tournament. The Giants defeated the Pacers on the road in the only meeting between the local rivals during the regular season, 83-69, on February 7
th.
Jazmyn Robinson (Hyattsville, MD/Northwestern) led Keystone with 23 points and seven assists,
Cierra Hensley (Frederick, MD/Frederick) had 14 points, and
Alyssa Cuomo (Odessa, DE/Hodgson Vo-tech) and
Ashley Evans (Wooster, OH/Wooster) added 13 points apiece for the Giants in the victory.
Cuomo, an Honorable Mention All-CSAC selection, leads four Keystone players who average double-figures in scoring with 14.1 points per game. Evans is scoring 13.7 points per game and leads the conference in free throw percentage,
AAliya Hayes (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) averages 13.4 points per game, while Robinson, a Second Team All-CSAC honoree averages 13.0 points per game and leads the league with 6.7 assists per game. Hensley paces the Giants with 7.3 rebounds per game while
Jerica Rode (Lords Valley, PA/Wallenpaupack) adds 6.1 boards to go along with a team-leading 40 blocked shots on the year.
Danielle Terranella, a Second Team All-CSAC honoree, leads Marywood with 11.5 points per game while Maggie Presnal (8.5 ppg) and Nora Joyce (8.1 ppg) round out the Pacers' top three scorers. Presnal leads the squad with 6.9 rebounds per game while Alexa Gerchman has dished out a team-best 75 assists on the year.
Tonight's contest marks Keystone's first trip to the CSAC playoffs since the 2012-13 season when, as the sixth seed, upset third-seeded Rosemont College on the road, 82-81, before falling to top-seed and eventual champion Cabrini College, 72-62, in the semifinals.
