HACKETTSTOWN, NJ—Keystone College didn't have an answer for the one-two scoring punch of Centenary College's Rachel Edwards and Rachel Cartaino Thursday evening.
Edwards and Cartaino scored 23 points apiece to lead the Cyclones to 61-43 victory. With the win, Centenary improves to 6-8 overall and 4-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), while the Giants fell to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Freshman guard
Bre Moore (Charleston, W.Va./Pennwood) led Keystone with 10 points and 10 rebounds—her third double-double of the season—and sophomore center
Maddy Moro (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) chipped in nine points and 10 rebounds, the third time this season she has pulled down at least 10 rebounds in a game.
The Giants were within striking distance by halftime, trailing just 25-22, before the Cyclones pulled away by shooting nearly 65 percent from the field in outscoring Keystone, 23-14, and extending their lead to 48-36 after three periods. Centenary put it out of reach by scoring the first six points of the fourth quarter.
Senior guard
Nina Hodanich (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) finished with seven points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals for Keystone, which will return home to host the Ravens of Rosemont College in CSAC action this Saturday, January 13, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
