Giants close out two-game road trip at Manhattanville tonight

Keystone back home Wednesday against Clarks Summit in CSAC action

The Keystone College women's basketball team will close out a two-game road trip tonight by taking on Manhattanville College in non-conference action at the Kennedy Gymnasium in Purchase, New York, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Giants are coming off a 79-75 loss to the University of Valley Forge in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, this past Saturday, a game in which they overcame a 6-point deficit with 1:24 left before the Patriots scored four points in the final 11 seconds to hang on for the victory.  Keystone's 75-point output was its second-highest of the season.

Manhattanville notes:  Valiants are also coming off a loss Saturday, dropping a 65-62 decision in overtime to King's College in Freedom Conference action at home…the loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Manhattanville, which enters tonight's game with a 14-3 record…junior forward Kayleah McGuire leads the Valiants in scoring (14.3) and is tied for the team-lead in minutes played (27.3 per game); in last Saturday's loss to King's, she led Manhattanville with 11 points…freshman guard Sarah Coutu is next on the team in scoring with an 11.1 points per game average…the Valiants are in third-place in the Freedom Conference with a 5-2 mark, a half-game behind FDU-Florham and King's College.

Keystone notes:  Giants made a season-high 21 free throws (in 30 attempts) and committed a season-low 14 turnovers against Valley Forge Saturday…sophomore center Maddy Moro (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) returned to the lineup after sitting out last Wednesday's game against Marywood (illness) and recorded her fourth 'double-double' of the season with 25 points and 16 rebounds against Valley Forge Saturday; her other three 'double-doubles' came against Clarks Summit on Nov. 29 (10 points, 10 rebounds), Cedar Crest on Jan. 3 (14 points, 14 rebounds), and Cairn University on Jan. 20 (13 points, 23 rebounds)…freshman guard Bre Moore (Charleston, W.Va./Pennwood) is second behind Moro in 'double-doubles'  with three:  she had 11 points and 11 rebounds against Elmira on Nov. 17, 26 points and 13 rebounds against Medgar Evers on Nov. 18, and 10 points and 10 rebounds against Centenary on Jan. 11…senior guard Nina Hodanich (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) has scored in double-figures in three of her last four games—including a 15-point effort Saturday at Valley Forge—and in five of her last eight games; during this span she is averaging 11.8 points per game…Moore and freshman forward Samy Farah (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) combined for 22 points in Saturday's game at Valley Forge…Farah has scored in double-figures in three of her last four games, including a season-high 16-point effort against Marywood University last Wednesday at the Gambal Athletic Center in La Plume; in that game, she also pulled down 12 rebounds, her second 'double-double' of the season.

Up next:  Keystone returns home to host the Defenders of Clarks Summit University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Wednesday, January 31, at 6:00 p.m. in the Gambal Athletic Center in La Plume.   The Giants will also host Gwynedd-Mercy University this Saturday, February 3, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
