Terzi, Medina lead Giants to sweep of Immaculata in CSAC action Saturday

Keystone has won three straight and 17 of its last 19 games, including today's CSAC sweep of Immaculata

La PLUME, Pa.—Senior pitcher Troy Terzi (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame) threw a 3-hit shutout and junior Ronald Medina (Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) finished with three hits and four RBIs to lead Keystone College to a sweep of Immaculata University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Saturday afternoon at Christy Mathewson Field.

Teri struck out nine batters to pick up his third complete game of the season and lowered his earned run average to 1.64 as the Giants top the Mighty Macs, 2-0, in the opener.   He has not allowed more than one earned run in his last four appearances.  Medina provided the offense by belting a solo home run in the second inning and Keystone closed out the scoring in the sixth on a run-scoring single by senior Eric Drzewiecki (Hellertown, Pa./Phillipsburg), who finished with two of the Giants' seven hits.  Medina also belted a double—his sixth of the season—and scored twice.

Junior Cam Delisle belted a double and sophomores Tristan Ryan and Tyler Kmiec each had a single for Immaculata.

Junior pitcher Dakota McFadden (Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask) followed Terzi's lead in the second game, scattering six hits and striking out six in seven innings as Keystone bolted out to an early 5-0 lead and settled for a 10-2 win.  McFadden helped his own cause with a two-run home run in the fifth inning and junior Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area) and Medina each drove in three runs. For the game, the Giants finished with 13 hits, including three by junior Mohammed Hussein (Queens, NY/William C. Bryant) and two each by McFadden, Medina, and Panzarella.

Immaculata got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning when Kmiec tripled and senior Justin Dempsey followed with a home run.  The Mighty Macs, however, were held to just one hit over the final five innings of play.

With today's sweep, Keystone is now 18-7 overall and 6-0 in the CSAC, while the losses dropped Immaculata to  8-14 overall and 3-3 in league play.
