Volleyball Falls to Stevenson & Mary Washington to Begin 2018

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - August 31, 2018 -
The Keystone College women's volleyball team dropped both matches to No. 24 Stevenson and Mary Washington on Friday night to begin the 2018 season.

The Giants will face No. 23 Christopher Newport at 12 pm followed by a match with Susquehanna at 2 pm tomorrow afternoon.

Senior Taylor Beatty (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) led the attack with 12 kills (.235) and chipped in four digs and two aces.

Junior Amanda Hardy (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) paced the offense with 21 assists and tied for the team lead with 10 digs, along with junior Pamela Heitman (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas).

Senior Victoria Homfeld (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) led the Giants with three aces.

Mary Washington 3, Keystone 0

Hardy dished out 13 assists while Beatty floored six kills to pace the offense.

Heitman led the Giants with 10 digs.

For the day, Heitman totaled 20 digs and moved into first place all-time in program history with 1,070 career digs, passing Hannah Zuchowski '17 (1,067).
