Volleyball Falls Twice at Captains Classic

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Sept. 1, 2018 - The Keystone College women's volleyball team wrapped up the Captains Classic this weekend, falling to host No. 23 Christopher Newport 3-0 before dropping to Susquehanna 3-0.

The Giants (0-4) will prepare for the Profs Invitational hosted by Rowan next weekend, Sept. 7-8, taking on Penn State Abington, Rowan, Widener and Curry.

Against the host Captains, both seniors Taylor Beatty (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) and Kristen Larkin (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) led the attack with five kills apiece.

Junior Amanda Hardy (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) dished out 15 assists while junior Pamela Heitman (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) led the defense with 13 digs.

Senior Victoria Homfeld (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) enjoyed two aces to pace the Giants.

Susquehanna 3, Keystone 0

Versus the River Hawks, Homfeld led the attack with nine kills while Larkin followed with six executions. Hardy distributed 20 assists for the Giants.

Heitman tallied 12 digs and three aces while Beatty logged three solo blocks.
