Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at SUNY Delhi in 2OT

DELHI, N.Y. - Sept. 13, 2018 - Despite a career-high 20 saves from junior Rebekah Shepherd (South Canaan, Pa./Western Wayne), the Keystone College women's soccer team fell at SUNY Delhi 1-0 in double overtime on Thursday.

The Giants fall to 0-3-0 on the year while the Broncos improve to 5-0-0, scoring the game-winner in the 109th minute in the second extra session.

Shepherd was forced to make nine opening-half saves and stopped seven shots in the second half with four more saves coming in the overtime sessions.

The 20 saves is tied for the ninth-most in single-game program history, tying Kelsey Kuhns, who had 20 stops against SUNY Potsdam, exactly 10 years to the day on Sept. 13, 2008.

Offensively, Keystone totaled 16 shots as junior Hayden Richner (Nicholson, Pa./Mountain View) led the squad with five. Junior Jordyn Olsen (Southampton, N.J./Seneca), senior Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) and sophomore Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) all registered three shots each.

The Giants remain on the road, traveling to Moravian on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7 pm, before returning home to host Neumann on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 4 pm.
