Berman Scores Twice in Field Hockey’s 3-1 Win at Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Sept. 22, 2018 - Senior Allison Berman (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./E.L. Meyers) scored two first-half goals and junior Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) notched a second-half score to lift the Keystone College field hockey team to a 3-1 win at Wilson in the CSAC opener for both teams on Saturday.

The Giants move to 4-3, 1-0 CSAC while the Phoenix drop to 1-3, 0-1 CSAC. This was the first meeting with Wilson since Sept. 12, 2009 (W, 3-0).

Berman started the scoring in the 16th minute, taking a feed from sophomore Jackie Martin (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale), and finding the back of the cage to give Keystone the early 1-0 lead.

A little over six minutes later, Berman tacked on her second of the day, cashing in off a rebound off the official to give the Giants a 2-0 advantage.

Wilson got within one, 2-1, in the 26th minute of action, as the Giants took a 2-1 lead into halftime. Robinson wrapped up the scoring with a shot from the top of the circle through traffic in the 69th minute.

Overall, Keystone outshot Wilson 17-8 and held the edge in penalty corners, 9-6. Senior Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) made three saves in the cage.

The Giants will travel to FDU-Florham on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 pm.
