Shiffer & Olsen Score in 4-2 Defeat at Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. - Sept. 25, 2018 - Sophomore Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) and junior Jordyn Olsen (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) both scored second-half goals but the Keystone College women's soccer team fell at Marywood 4-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

With the defeat, the Giants move to 1-7-0 on the year and are now 1-11-0 against Marywood (including playoffs) since 2008. The Pacers improve to 2-6-0.

Trailing 3-0 at halftime, Shiffer got the Giants on the board in the 48th minute, thanks to a feed from senior Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady), to make it a 3-1 contest.

Olsen enjoyed her first goal of the year off a direct kick from 40 yards out in the 86th minute to wrap up the scoring.

Marywood outshot the Giants 29-13 as Cortes and junior Hayden Richner (Nicholson, Pa./Mountain View) led the attack with three shots apiece.

Junior keeper Rebekah Shepherd (South Canaan, Pa./Western Wayne) made 14 saves in net, her sixth contest this season with double-digit stops. She currently is tied for 13th in NCAA Division III for saves per game.

The Giants return home to host Immaculata on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 4 pm followed by a home CSAC contest against Centenary on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1 pm.
