Oribello Scores 17 in 44-40 Loss at Notre Dame (Md.)

BALTIMORE, Md. - Jan. 30, 2019 - Freshman Mac Oribello (San Diego, Calif./Westview) led all players with a game-high 17 points on Wednesday evening but the Keystone College women's basketball team fell at host Notre Dame of Maryland 44-40 in CSAC action.

With the defeat, Keystone moves to .500 at 10-10, 7-5 CSAC and the Giants host Bryn Athyn on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. With the victory, Notre Dame improvest to  10-11, 7-5 CSAC and the Gators travel to Cedar Crest on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m.

Oribello shot 6-of-17 from the field, including five made three-pointers, to go along with three assists and two boards in 38 minutes of action.

Sophomore Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) pulled down a team-high 12 boards and paced the Giants with five helpers while sophomore Khaliah Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood) tallied eight points, 10 rebounds and two assists.

Senior Mayah Kitchen (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) scored seven points to go along with five rebounds while sophomore Samy Farah (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) pulled down nine rebounds on the night.

For the Gators, Daija Fitchett enjoyed a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds while Stephania Longa tallied 11 points off the bench. Adrianna Fletcher chipped in 10 rebounds.

Keystone led by five (35-30) entering the fourth quarter following a pair of free throws by Shiffer at the end of the third.

However, for the second-straight contest, the Giants were unable to get anything going in the final period as the Gators outscored Keystone 14-5 in the fourth to hand the Giants the tough league loss.
