Field Hockey Enjoys 5-0 Win Over LBC

La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College field hockey team enjoyed a 5-0 shutout win over visiting Lancaster Bible College in CSAC action on Wednesday.
  • With the win, the Giants improve to 10-7 (5-0 CSAC) & will remain at home to host Notre Dame of Maryland on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
  • The Chargers fall to 3-15 (1-5 CSAC).
  • With the victory, Keystone secures the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament, with the finals pairings announced after Saturday's games.
  • Keystone outshot LBC 22-7, as senior Savanna Robinson (Laflin, Pa./Coughlin) tallied 13 shots.
  • Junior Jackie Martin (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) scored in the 3rd minute and senior April Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) tallied a marker in the 19th minute to give KC a 2-0 lead.
  • Freshman Shannon Green (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) scored in the 19th minute while senior Amy Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) & her sister April wrapped up the scoring in the 34th & 45th minute.
  • Sophomore Julia Blahut (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock) was credited with 2 assists while April Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) & Martin both dished out 1.
  • KC had 20 penalty corners on the night.
  • Senior Megan Novak (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) made 4 stops for her 6th shutout of 2019.
  • Senior Daphne Leenas (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) made 1 defensive save – her 11th of the season – which leads the CSAC & is 3rd in all of D-III.
  • Robinson was honored in a pre-game ceremony for becoming the program's all-time points leader & her 100th career point earlier this season.
  • At halftime, the program honored breast cancer survivors Julie Cresswell & Colleen Wood.
