Men’s Soccer Defeats Cairn 3-1; Will Host CSAC Final






LANGHORNE, Pa. -
The Keystone College men's soccer team enjoyed a 3-1 road win at Cairn University in the CSAC Semifinals on Saturday to advance to the conference championship match.
  • With the win, the No. 3 seed Giants will now host No. 4 seed Rosemont College on Saturday, Nov. 9 in the CSAC Finals, as the Ravens upset No. 1 seed Centenary in a penalty kick shootout.
  • This will be the 2nd-straight year for the Giants to host the CSAC title match.
  • Keystone improves to 12-4-1 on the year while the No. 2 seed Highlanders end the year at 10-7-1.
  • Cairn scored in the 11th minute to put Keystone down 1-0 but senior Andrew Lupinacci (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) netted the equalizer in the 42nd minute, assisted by freshman Alex Karbowski (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista).
  • Senior Daniel Zuniga (Lakeland, Fla./McKeel Academy) followed with the go-ahead goal in the 44th minute as the Giants led 2-1 at halftime.
  • Junior Carlos Bonilla (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) put the game away in the 80th minute.
  • Keystone outshot Cairn 14-6 and held the advantage in corners, 6-1.
  • Lupinacci, Zuniga & C. Bonilla all finished with 3 shots.
  • Junior Andres Rizo (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Boro) provided 2 shots off the bench.
  • Sophomore keeper Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) made one stop in net.
