Women’s Basketball Falls at King’s 83-54 in Final Contest of 2019

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Keystone College women's basketball team closed out 2019 with an 83-54 defeat at King's College on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.
  • Keystone drops to 5-5 and will host Rosemont in CSAC action on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 1 p.m.
  • King's improves to 6-3.
  • Sophomore Bella Lamonea (Glendora, Calif./South Hills) led the Giants with 18 points behind 8-of-19 shooting.
  • Lamonea provided a team-high 7 rebounds and dished out 3 assists in the loss.
  • Sophomore Mac Oribello (San Diego, Calif./Westview) tallied 10 points, 4 assists & 2 boards while junior Khaliah Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood) notched 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals & 1 block.
  • Freshmen Katie Price (Fredonia, N.Y./Fredonia) & Renata Alberici (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) combined for 10 points, 8 rebounds & 3 steals. 
  • Juniors Samy Farah (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) & Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) combined for 9 rebounds
  • Freshmen Megan Weber (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) & newcomer Naomi Hanton (Bristow, Va./Patriot) both made one three-pointer each.
  • For the Monarchs, Samantha Rajza pumped in a game-high 31 points behind 12-of-14 shooting from the field & 6-of-7 shooting from deep.
  • The Giants trailed 22-13 after the 1st quarter and were behind 47-24 at intermission.
