Baseball Defeats Wilson 10-2 in CSAC Action

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -
Seniors Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area) and Dakota McFadden (Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask) launched back-to-back homers in the top of the first and senior Mohammed Hussein (Queens, NY/William C. Bryant) pitched eight strong innings to lift the Keystone College baseball team to a 10-2 CSAC win at Wilson College on Friday afternoon.

With the win, the Giants are now 10-9 (4-0 CSAC) and will host the Phoenix in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. tomorrow. Wilson drops to 13-6 (3-1 CSAC).

Keystone tacked on three runs in the top of the first as freshman Devin Reed (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) led off with a single to center. Panzarella followed with a two-run shot to center and McFadden mirrored Panzarella with a solo blast to left center.

The Phoenix got within one, 3-2, after scoring twice in the bottom of the third. The Giants scored at least one run from the sixth inning on, including three in the seventh. In the seventh, junior Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) and Hussein both enjoyed RBI singles.

Junior Ryan Callahan (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) came through with a two-run single to center in the ninth.

Overall, Keystone totaled 11 hits and took advantage of five errors by Wilson. Panzarella, McFadden, Carlini and Hussein all tallied two hits each. Senior Johann Paniagua (Bronx, NY/James Monroe Campus High School), McFadden, Panzarella and Callahan all logged two RBI.

Hussein earned the start and his second win of the year, going eight innings, while striking out nine. The righty forced nine groundouts and five flyouts.

Junior Matt Tarabola (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) tossed the final frame, fanning one.
