SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Keystone College baseball team dropped an 11-2 non-conference decision at Susquehanna University on Wednesday afternoon.
With the defeat, the Giants move to 19-13 overall and will face Clarks Summit on Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Scranton in CSAC action. The River Hawks improve to 19-15.
Overall, Keystone finished with 10 hits as senior
Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area) and junior
Ryan Callahan (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) both went 2-for-2, with Callahan drawing a bases-loaded walk.
Freshman
Devin Reed (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) also drove in one run, going 1-for-5.
Senior
Dakota McFadden (Rocky Point, NC/Heide Trask) suffered the loss, going 6 2/3 innings, striking out three while walking four on 105 pitches. Senior
Luke McDonagh (Carmel, NY/Carmel) and junior
Ramon Disla (Bronx, N.Y./Alfred E. Smith) both appeared in relief.
The Giants went ahead 2-1 after the top of the second thanks to RBIs from Callahan and Reed. However, that lead was short lived as the River Hawks scored in the third and fourth and blew the game open with a seven-run seventh.
