Softball Splits to Open Spring Break

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Keystone College softball team went 1-1 on Monday to open the Giants' spring break trip.
  • Keystone is now 1-3 & will face La Roche (3:30 p.m.) & Albertus Magnus (5:30 p.m.) tomorrow.
Game One: Immaculata 13, Keystone 5
  • Senior Shannon Lloyd (King of Prussia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) finished 2-for-4 with 1 RBI.
  • Freshman Alyssa Booth (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) went 2-for-2 with a 2-run double in the 6th.
  • Junior Lauryn Rodriguez (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) enjoyed a run-scoring triple in the 3rd.
  • Freshman Erin Dunn (Harveys Lake, Pa./Tunkhannock) & sophomoreMarlena Pegula (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) picked up base knocks.
  • Pegula & freshman Madolyn Fernandes (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) both forced 6 flyouts.
  • The Mighty Macs scored 4 runs in the 2nd & the 7th.
Game Two: Keystone 10, Wells 9
  • Sophomore Lexy Johnson (Newark, Del./Delaware Military Academy) finished 2-for-4 with 3 RBI & 2 runs, including the game-tying double in the 6th.
  • Right after, Booth brought home Johnson for the game-winning run with a double to left.
  • Lloyd went 2-for-4 while junior Paige Mokychic (Beaumont, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) went 2-for-4 with a triple.
  • Rodriguez enjoyed a 2-for-3 day with an RBI triple in the 5th.
  • Senior Kassadi Woods (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson) went 2-for-3 & junior Baylie Reed (Olyphant, Pa./Valley View) completed a run-scoring squeeze bunt in the 5th.
  • Pegula earned the win in relief, tossing 6 frames while striking out 7.
