BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Keystone College women's volleyball team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play Saturday afternoon by taking set No. 1, 25-21, before ultimately falling to Bryn Athyn in four sets.
The Giants (1-13 overall, 0-1 CSAC) fell to the Lions in the last three stanzas by scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-16.
Bryn Athyn improved to 2-0 in the CSAC and 2-8 overall.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla. /Putman City) put down season highs of 17 kills and 13 digs. The freshman is coming off three-consecutive CSAC Weekly Honor Roll recognition.
Fellow freshman Haley Wittenberg (Denver, Pa. /Cocalico) nabbed 16 digs while senior Marlena Pegula (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) set a personal season-best with 15.
Hannah Kline (Dallas, Pa. /Lake-Lehman ) came up with two solo blocks and placed five service aces on the match.
Madi Aston (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) had a steady performance with 29 assists dished out.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Giants will have a final non-conference tune up Thursday, Oct. 7 when they travel to Binghamton, N.Y. to play Broome Community College (5-0) before returning to CSAC play next Saturday for their first home match of the season.
