CASTLETON, Vt. - The Keystone College football team fell 41-0 at Castleton University in ECFC action on Saturday.

  • With the defeat, the Giants drop to 0-8 (0-4 ECFC) while the Spartans improve to 4-3 (2-1 ECFC).

Standout Performers

  • In a quiet day offensively for the Giants, Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) had 17 carries for 37 yards while Christopher Diaz (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) hauled in three receptions for 43 yards. 
  • Chad Jones (Bear, Del./Alexis I. DuPont) enjoyed a 30-yard catch with Angel Rodriguez (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and Richie Crews (Cuddebackville, N.Y./Port Jervis) both tallying receptions.
  • Kevin Lewis (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) totaled 16 yards on the ground while Noah Hulslander (Fawn Grave, Pa./Kennard-Dale) and Nick Waslyn combined for 95 yards passing on six completions.
  • Defensively, 15 players had three or more tackles, as Sean Tocci (Lodi, N.J./Lodi), Jerell Springer (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) and Ali Mendoza (Hoboken, N.J./Hoboken) all finished with six apiece.
  • Tocci tallied two tackles for loss with one sack while Maxwell Johnson (Wilmington, Del./St. Thomas Aquinas College) and Elijah Washington (Lawrence, N.Y./Lawrence) recorded one sack each.
  • Dontez Crawford (Baltimore, Md./Pennsauken), Troy McEwen (Marlboro, N.Y./Marlboro) and Jeremyiah Johnson (Passaic, N.J./Passaic) all had one pass break up.
  • Diaz and Sean Pettway (Ellenville, N.Y./Ellenville) had six kick returns for 126 yards, with Pettway having a long return of 30 yards.

  • Following a scoreless first quarter, the Spartans scored 27 points in the second quarter and 14 more points in the second half.
  • Castleton outrushed Keystone 217-4 and picked off the Giants three times.
