LA PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College men's basketball team opened CSAC play with a 68-57 victory over the visiting Defenders from Clarks Summit University Thursday evening.
With the win, Keystone moves to 3-5 (1-0 CSAC). Clarks Summit drops to 2-8 (0-1 CSAC).
Standout Performers
- Graduate student Tone Cockrell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Landon School) led the way for the Giants. He scored 26 points with seven assists and five rebounds.
- Pete Laidley (Miramar, Fla./Pembrokes Pine Charter) recorded 16 points and eight rebounds.
- Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western High) had eight points and eight rebounds on the night.
- For Clarks Summit, Kelvin Chest and Isaiah Coleman both enjoyed 13 points each.
Inside the Box Score
- The Giants outscored the Defenders in the first half, 30-19. However, both squads would contribute with 38 points in the second half.
- Keystone shot approximately 41% from the field while CSU was about 35% from the field.
- Both teams had 11 turnovers in the conference contest.
What's Next
Keystone will continue conference play as they travel to Cairn University on Dec. 4 for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
Clarks Summit's next matchup will be on the same day as they host the University of Valley Forge at 3 p.m.
