Baseball Splits With Wilson To Open Up 2021

La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College baseball program appeared on the diamond for the first time in over a calendar year on Sunday, splitting with visiting Wilson College in a CSAC doubleheader.
 
The Giants (1-1, 1-1 CSAC) won the opener 9-3 before falling in the nightcap, 7-6. Wilson moves to 7-1, 1-1 CSAC.
 
Keystone will remain at home to host Montclair State on Tuesday, March 23 at 4 pm, followed by another home game versus Susquehanna on Wednesday, March 24 at 3:30 pm.
 
Game 1: Keystone 9, Wilson 3
 
  • Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) earned the win, tossing 7 innings, allowing one earned run while striking out 6.
  • Adam Kelly (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) finished 2-for-5 with 2 runs and 4 RBI, including two-run homer.
  • Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) went 1-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.
  • RJ Gouldsbury (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) and Larry Sims (Winona, MISS.) both drove in one run.
  • The Giants scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st and notched a four-run 7th and two-run 8th to close out the first game.
  • Wilson outhit Keystone 10-4.
  • Carlos Benoit (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Patrick Adamski (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) pitched in relief with Adamski notching 3 punchouts.

  • Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic) finished 3-for-5 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
  • Derrick Cancel (Orlando, FLA.) notched a two-run double.
  • Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) went 2-for-4 with 2 runs while Kelly finished 2-for-5.
  • Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) tossed 5 innings and struck out 3 in the defeat.
  • Logan Lixie (Tamarac, Fla./J.P. Taravella) and Wilbert Gil (Allentown, PA.) appeared out of the bullpen.
