MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Keystone College baseball team salvaged a split at Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday in non-conference action, falling in game one, 13-8, before winning the nightcap, 14-9.
- The Giants are now 14-4 and will travel to Moravian College on Thursday, April 22 at 4 pm.
- The Lions move to 18-4 and head to Wells College on Wednesday, April 21.
Game One: PSU Harrisburg 13, Keystone 8
- The Lions tallied 4 runs in the 2nd, 5th, & 6th innings.
- Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic) launched a 3-run homer to left in the 9th.
- Vince Montone (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) enjoyed a solo shot to left in the 4th and finished 2-for-4 with 2 runs.
- Adam Kelly (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale), Larry Sims (Winona, MISS.), Seth Brizel (Tamarac, Fla./J.P. Taravella) & Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) all notched base hits.
- Sims & reigning CSAC Hitter of the Week Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) each notched an RBI.
- Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) started & suffered the defeat, as the righty tossed 4.1 innings, striking out 8 while forcing flyouts.
- Matt Tarabola (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee), Sean Perry (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) & Conrad Holbrook (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield) appeared in relief, combining for 6 strikeouts.
Game Two: Keystone 14, PSU Harrisburg 9
- The Giants enjoyed 14 hits & scored 7 runs in the final 2 frames after trailing 8-7.
- Carlini capped off the game with a grand slam to center & finished the game 3-for-6 with 2 doubles, 3 runs & 4 RBI.
- Evan Fallwell (Tucson, ARIZ. ) launched a solo homer in the 3rd and went 2-for-4 with a double, 2 runs & 2 RBI.
- Adam Kelly (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) finished 2-for-6 including a 2-run homer to left-center in the 8th.
- Easley De La Cruz (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) enjoyed a 3-for-4 day with 2 RBI and 2 runs.
- Derrick Cancel (Orlando, FLA.) drove in 1 run while Montone went 1-for-5 with 2 RBI.
- Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) & Pokorney each had a hit.
- Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) earned the starting nod & pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits, striking out 2 while forcing 7 flyouts & 3 groundouts.
- Decker Quintana (Ogden, Utah.), Patrick Adamski (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) & Nick Gravel (Sidney, N.Y.) tossed out of the bullpen, allowing 1 run while striking out 5.
