Baseball Splits with PSU Harrisburg on Easter Monday

 
La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College baseball team earned a split in Monday's non-conference doubleheader against PSU Harrisburg.
 
The Giants (7-3) captured game one, 23-5, before falling to the Lions (10-2) in game two, 14-4. Keystone will head to Moravian College on Wednesday, April 7 at 3:30 pm.
 
Game 1: Keystone 23, PSU Harrisburg 5
 
  • The Giants tallied runs in every inning except the 7th, including a 6-run 5th and 8-run 8th.
  • Keystone enjoyed 24 hits in the opener, including 4 homers – 2 from RJ Gouldsbury (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) and one each from Nick Carlini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) & Evan Fallwell (Tucson, ARIZ. ).
  • KC had 6 players with at least 2 hits, as Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) finished 5-for-6 with 4 RBI.
  • Fallwell went 4-for-5 with a solo shot, 4 RBI and 5 runs.
  • Luis Francisco (Laceyville, PA.) collected 4 doubles, 3 runs and 2 RBI while Carlini went 3-for-6 with 4 RBI and 3 runs.
  • Gouldsbury continued his hot streak with 2 HR, 5 RBI & 4 runs.
  • On the mound, Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) earned the start and the win, going 6 innings with 10 strikeouts.
  • Julian Gonzalez (Bayonne, N.J.) earned the save, tossing 3 innings with 4 punchouts
 
Game 2: PSU Harrisburg 14, Keystone 4
 
  • Despite jumping out to a 4-1 after the 1st, the Lions roared back with 14 unanswered runs.
  • Pedro Abreu (Bronx, N.Y./Santa Teresa) finished 2-for-4 with a leadoff homer.
  • Vince Montone (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) ripped an RBI triple and later stole home while Gouldsbury notched an RBI single.
  • Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) earned the start and struck out 4 in 3 innings.
  • Brandon Reining (Orlando, FLA.), Sean Perry (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township), Patrick Adamski (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West), Matt Tarabola (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) & Nick Gravel (Sidney, N.Y.) all appeared in relief.
