La PLUME, Pa. - Keystone remains at home this week to host William Paterson University (0-2) in a non-conference contest on Saturday, Sept. 18.
The Giants (0-2) hosted Misericordia on Sept. 11 in the program's home opener and first contest on campus in over 70 years. The Cougars bested KC 28-7.
Offense
Kevin Lewis (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) rushed 17 times for 63 yards and the team's lone touchdown – a 2-yard run in the 2nd quarter. Lewis has accounted for both Keystone's scores this season. Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) tallied 41 yards on 10 carries.
Six Giants hauled in receptions as Javier Tazza (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) led the way with three catches for 22 yards. Jorden Cook (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz) accounted for 51 yards on two receptions. Tom Roach (Burlington City, N.J./Burlington City) and Deswa Evans, Jr. Combined for 10 completions and 110 yards through the air.
Defense
Sean Tocci (Lodi, N.J./Lodi) paced the Giants' D with 12 total tackles, including nine solo stops and one tackle for loss. Tyshaun McClain (Jersey City, N.J./) enjoyed nine tackles while Jerell Springer (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood), Maxwell Johnson (Wilmington, Del./St. Thomas Aquinas College) and Sean Pettway tallied seven, six, and five tackles, respectively.
Keystone limited Misericordia to 117 passing yards as Dontez Crawford (Baltimore, Md./Pennsauken) tallied an interception.
Special Teams
Darrien Tabb (Pennsauken, N.J./) and Tazza combined for 39 kick return yards. Frankie Vega (Edison, N.J./Edison) and Gabriel Rozier (Johnstown, Pa./Greater Johnstown) tallied seven punts with Rozier notching one inside the 20-yard line.
William Paterson
The Pioneers lost the opener 24-21 at Western Connecticut State followed by a home-opening loss to FDU Florham, 43-17.
Spencer Lee is 31-of-48 with 419 yards and two touchdowns through the air this season. The Pioneers average 101.5 yards on the ground. Matt Clarke has hauled in eight catches for 180 yards and a score while Siraj Abdul-Malik leads the team with nine receptions. Taz Burton has seven catches for 111 yards.
Defensively, Jared Salgado leads the team with 23 total tackles (13 solo). Five Pioneers have double-digit tackles and have intercepted opposing quarterbacks three times so far.
