DALLAS, Pa. – The Keystone College women's volleyball team dropped straight sets twice in a Saturday afternoon tri-match at Misericordia University against the host Cougars (7-8 overall) and the Farmingdale State Rams (5-8).
Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma, Okla. /Putman City) led the Giants in both matches with three and four kills, respectively. The freshman also came up with a game-high 10 digs against the Rams.
The Giants fell to 1-10 overall on the season.
Game 1: Misericordia 3, Keystone 0
Madi Aston (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) assisted on seven kills while chipping in one service ace, one block assist and six digs.
Haley Wittenberg (Denver, Pa. /Cocalico) notched four service aces with one kill and nine digs.
Cassidy Fredo (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills ) also had a team-high nine digs with one service ace.
Game 2: Farmingdale State 3, Keystone 0
Marlena Pegula (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) nabbed two kills to go along with Derrick's four, Wittenberg's four and Aston's two against the Rams.
Derrick, Wittenberg and Fredo combined for 20 digs.
What's Next
The Giants will be on the road this week starting with a trip to Oneonta, N.Y. on Tuesday, Sept. 28 for a non-conference match against Hartwick College (9-2 overall, 1-1 conf.) of the Empire 8 Athletic Conference. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
