ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The 2022 season came to an end on Thursday night for the Keystone College women's volleyball team as the No. 4 seed Giants fell at No. 1 seed Cedar Crest College 3-0 in the CSAC semifinals.
The Giants conclude the year at 13-13, a 10-win improvement from a year ago. The top-seeded Falcons move to 12-8 and will host either No. 2 Notre Dame of Maryland or No. 3 Cairn in the CSAC Championship on Saturday, Nov. 5.
This was the first playoff appearance for Keystone since 2019.
The Falcons won the opening set, 25-10, and claimed set two (25-16) and set three (25-9). Cedar Crest limited the Giants to a negative attack percentage on the night (-.038).
Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City) and Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) each floored five kills apiece. Hannah Ankerbrand-Ochoa (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) tallied three kills, eight digs, and 13 assists.
Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) notched two kills, two assists, and three digs. Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area), Karielys Gonzalez Ramirez (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon), Devany Obin (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton), and Kaylee Sargent (Tioga, Pa./Williamson) combined for 21 digs.
For Cedar Crest, Maddison Minyo and Ellise Everett combined for 21 kills.
