La PLUME, Pa. – Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City) floored a match-high 15 kills but the Keystone College volleyball team fell to visiting Penn College 3-1 on Tuesday night in non-conference action.
With the defeat, the Giants drop to 3-7 and will head to King's College in a tri-match with Valley Forge on Saturday, Sept. 24, starting at 11 a.m. The Wildcats improve to 2-5 and will play at Albright on Friday at 6 p.m.
Penn College won the first two sets, 25-16 and 25-20. Keystone responded with a 25-22 third set victory before succumbing in the fourth, 25-19.
Derrick hit .361 on the night and chipped in four digs in the process. Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) and Sage Superko (Laceyville, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) combined for 11 kills while Hannah Ankerbrand-Ochoa (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) dished out 16 assists to go along with six aces and five digs. Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) recorded 16 digs.
For the Wildcats, Christine Limbert and Hailey DeBrody combined for 21 kills. Coryn Oswald floored eight aces. As a team, PCT finished with 25 aces.
