Cross's Late Goal Gives Keystone 3-2 Win Over Canton

Keystone led 2-0 for over 65 minutes of the match.

La PLUME, Pa. – Natalie Cross (Hop Bottom, Pa./Mountain View) scored the game-winning goal in the 80th minute on Tuesday to lift the Keystone College women's soccer team past visiting SUNY Canton 3-2 in non-conference action.

Keystone (1-1) led 2-0 for over 65 minutes of the match before the Kangaroos (0-3) knotted the game up at 2-2 thanks to goals in the 66th and 70th minutes.

Cross took a feed from Hailey Dunham (Southgate, Mich./Inter-City Baptist) and fired it past the keeper to give the Giants the non-league win.

KC claimed an early 1-0 advantage in the 12th minute off a corner from Brooke Freni (Glendora, N.J./Triton Regional) that Megan Weber (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) headed in the back of the net. In the 37th minute, Chloe Hoffman (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) tacked in the Giants' second tally of the day.

Overall, the Giants outshot the Kangaroos 12-10 and held a 5-2 corner kick advantage. A total of 10 fouls were called.

The Giants travel to Wells College (0-1-1) on Friday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m.
