Men’s Basketball Tripped Up by Wilson in Conference Opener

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team dropped a nail biter in their first conference game of the 2022-23 campaign at home to Wilson College by a final score of 77-72 in the Gambal Athletic Center Wednesday evening. With the loss, Keystone drops to 4-8 (0-1 (CSAC) with Wilson improving to 7-5 (1-0 CSAC).

Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) led the way with 30 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Pete Laidley (Miramar, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter) scored 17 points, six rebounds, four blocks, and three assists. Daivel Jackson (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) was a rebound away from a double-double as he finished the night with 11 points and nine rebounds. The Phoenix had four players finished with double digit points with two Wilson players having double-doubles. Darryl Garib scored 28 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and five steals. Antonio Bussey had 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks.

Keystone held a 40-32 lead at halftime, but Wilson came alive in the second half as they outscored the Giants 45-32. The Phoenix went on an 11-5 run in the last three minutes of the game to come away with the win. Keystone shot 45 percent from the field and 48 percent from three.

Keystone will look to rebound following their first conference setback as they travel to University of Valley Forge on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 4 p.m. Wilson will be at Cairn University on the same day at for a 3 p.m. CSAC showdown.
