LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College women's volleyball team won a thrilling match as they defeated Cairn University in five sets Thursday evening in the Gambal Athletic Center.
The Giants won the first set 25-22, but Cairn took the next two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-22. Keystone would be victorious in the last two sets, 25-18 and 15-10 to clinch the match.
Keystone moves to 11-9 (3-2 United East) while Cairn slides to 11-8 (3-2 United East).
Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) had 20 kills and 19 digs. Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) posted a dozen kills with three service aces, and three blocks. Both Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City) and Kameryn Cortinas (Los Banos, Calif./Pacheco) recorded seven kills. Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area), Kaylee Sargent (Tioga, Pa./Williamson), and Tobi West (Hoopeston, Ill./Hoopeston Area) combined for 46 digs. West finished the night with 47 assists.
The Highlanders had three players finish in double figures for kills as Bridget Dahn led Cairn with 13 kills and 16 digs. Caroline Conrad tallied 11 kills and a match high 32 digs.
Tonight's match consisted of 12 lead changes and the score being tied 24 times.
Keystone will travel to St. Elizabeth University on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a 1 p.m. match.
