Men’s Basketball Falls Short at Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team dropped a close game to local rival Marywood University 90-86 Tuesday night at Insalaco Arena.  

Keystone drops to 0-3 while Marywood improves to 2-2.  

Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) was the leading scorer for Keystone with 21 points, seven assists, five steals, and five rebounds. Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) poured in 16 points and two assists. DaShaun Johnson (Montgomery Village, Md./Clarksburg) provided 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists. D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) added ten points while Tyler Fox (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) tallied nine points off the bench.  

For Marywood, Trevor Seitz tallied a game-high 26 points off the bench. In addition, he grabbed five rebounds. Brendan Franko finished with 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Brandon Reed and Mason Mendygral combined for 29 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.  

Keystone dominated in the first half as they led Marywood 45-39 at the break, However, the Pacers shooting got hot as they outscored the Giants 51-41 in the second half. The game consisted of ten lead changes. Both teams shot close to 56 percent from the field. 

The Giants return to the Gambal Athletic Center for their home opener this Friday, Nov. 17 against SUNY Brockport at 6 p.m.
