Women’s Basketball Victorious Over Clarks Summit

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.- The Keystone College women's basketball team knocked off local rival Clarks Summit University 67-59 Saturday afternoon in United East Conference action.

Keystone moves to 4-5 (2-2 United East Skye Division). Clarks Summit falls to 1-9 (0-4 United East Skye Division).

Bry Hicks (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) recorded another double-double as she finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) scored 15 points with five rebounds. Both Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) and Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) scored 13 points.

The Lady Defenders had two players in double figures as Kylee Miller tallied a double-double as she scored game high 30 points with 16 rebounds. Serene Calderon finished with a triple-double as she had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Trailing 19-10 after the first quarter, Keystone went on a 23-8 run in the second quarter to go up 33-27 at half. The second half went back and forth until the Giants went on a 13-5 run in the last four minutes to pull away with the win.

Keystone shot close to 36 percent from the field. Clarks Summit did have the advantage of rebounds, 40-31.

The Giants will resume their nonconference schedule next Thursday, Dec. 14 against Immaculata University at 5 p.m.
