LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College baseball team enjoyed a convincing 17-3 win over Wilkes University Monday afternoon at Christy Mathewson Field.
With the win, Keystone moves to 20-11 with Wilkes dropping to 14-22.
Griffin Yastremski (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) remained hot at the plate as he went 3-for-3 with a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth.
In addition, Yastremski started on the mound and got the win as he went 5.2 innings with five strikeouts on 75 pitches.
Giovanni Diaz (Bronx, N.Y./Christopher Columbus) went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run. Robert Estrada (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) belted a solo home run in the seventh. Alex Brinkman (Jefferson Township, Pa./North Pocono) and Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) combined for four hits and five RBI. Â Cam Hale (Covington, Wash./Kentridge), Jacob Shaw (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes), and Kevin Adamson (Vienna, Va./Paul VI Catholic) appeared in relief for the Giants.
Keystone was up 5-2 after 5.5 innings before pouring in eight runs in the sixth to put the contest out of reach. The Giants outhit the Colonels, 17-7.
Keystone will remain home tomorrow when they host Neumann University at 3: 30 p.m. Wilkes will face Scranton tomorrow at 5 p.m.
