Baseball Wraps Up 2023 Season at Dallas Regional

DALLAS, Pa.- The Keystone College baseball team's 2023 campaign ended as they suffered an 18-9 loss to Washington & Jefferson College Saturday morning in the elimination game of the Dallas Regional at Misericordia University. Keystone concludes their season at 30-14. Washington & Jefferson keeps their season alive and moves to 32-13.  

Griffin Yastremski (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) went 4-for-4 with four RBI to lead the Keystone offense. Jason Thomas (Miami, Fla./Barbara Goleman) went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and was walked twice. Anthony Raimo (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) recorded two hits which included a two-RBI double.  

Jordan Art (Greenfield Township, Pa./Lakeland) got the starting nod for the Giants and went one run inning. Dominic Verrastro (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland), Julian Gonzalez (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne), Tyler Mullen (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland), and Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) appeared in relief. Verrastro and Gonzalez combined for seven strikeouts.  

Keystone's bat came alive at the beginning of the game as they took a 7-2 heading into the bottom of the third. The Presidents started to come back and take control of this game as they totaled 16 runs in the third through seventh inning. Washington and Jefferson used a six-run sixth inning to put the game away and ultimately end the Giants season.  

Washington and Jefferson will face the loser of Salve Regina and Misericordia later on this afternoon.
