Women’s Volleyball Wins Both at Rutgers-Newark Tri-Match

NEWARK, NJ - Keystone College women's volleyball swept both opponents during their tri-match at Rutgers University-Newark.

In their first match against Rutgers-Newark, Keystone won the first three sets with scores of 25-14, 27-25, and 25-13. Keystone combined for 35 kills in the match, with Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) leading with 13 kills. Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) and Taylor Howard (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) also combined for 7 blocks during the match, and Tobi West (Hoopeston, Ill./Hoopeston Area) put up an impressive 18 assists. For Rutgers University-Newark, Kaiel Maynor and Maryann Ijeh led the way with 8 kills each. Angelyse Orellana also put up 20 assists for the match.

In their second match, Keystone took down Valley Forge in three sets with scores of 25-15, 25-11, and 25-14. In this match, Messana Haslock (Park City, Utah/Park City) put up 7 aces and Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) put up 6 aces. We also saw a combined 20 assists coming from Tobi West (Hoopeston, Ill./Hoopeston Area), Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area), and Hannah Ely (New Albany, Pa./Wyalusing Valley). For Valley Forge, Caitlyn Fisher put up 6 kills and Unique Castilho had 7 assists as well as 7 digs.

Keystone is now 2-5 on the season and will be back home on Thursday, September 21 to take on Bryn Mawr college at 7:00 PM.
