GENEVA, N.Y.- The Keystone College football team wrapped up their nonconference schedule with a 43-10 defeat to Hobart College Saturday evening at David J. Urick Stadium.
Keystone drops to 1-3 while Hobart remains undefeated at 3-0.
Demiko Suggs (Washington, D.C./Bell) went 16-for-23 for 108. Suggs was the team's leading rusher with 15 carries for 74 yards. Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) ran 13 times for 46 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively, Nicholas DeFrancesco (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) led Keystone's defense with nine total tackles. Zach Hoover (Elmhurst Township, Pa./North Pocono) tallied eight tackles. Jorge Urizar (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) recorded the only sack for the Giants and Quentin Tibbs (New Brunswick, N.J./New Brunswick) recovered and forced a fumble. Cornerback Dontez Crawford (Baltimore, Md./Pennsauken) broke up three passes. Kicker Jeremiah Ortiz (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) notched a 25-yard field goal in the second quarter.
For Hobart, quarterback Johnny Colombi passed for 225 yards with three touchdowns. Colombi and Edward Taylor each recorded a rushing touchdown in the win. Rane Daramola had five catches for 83 yards and a touchdown to lead Hobart's wide receivers. The Statesmen defense were led by Jaimen Bliss and Anthony Romano who combined for 22 tackles.
The Giants were up 10-3 early in the second quarter, but that lead would not last long as Hobart went on a 40-0 run as they put up 20 points in the second and third quarter to put the contest out of reach. The Statesmen finished the game with 504 yards of total offense.
Keystone plays their first Landmark Conference game in program history next Saturday Sept. 30 at Moravian University beginning at 1 p.m.
