Football Week Five Preview: Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Keystone College football team opens Landmark Conference play this Saturday, Sept. 30 as they face Moravian University on the road at 1 p.m.

Keystone

The Keystone College Giants (1-3) are coming off a 43-10 loss to Hobart College.

Demiko Suggs (Washington, D.C./Bell) threw for 108 yards and was the team's leading rusher with 74 rushing yards. Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) accounted the only touchdown for Keystone which came in the first quarter.

Nicholas DeFrancesco (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) led Keystone's defense with nine tackles while Zach Hoover (Elmhurst Township, Pa./North Pocono) finished with eight tackles. Quentin Tibbs (New Brunswick, N.J./New Brunswick) recovered and forced a fumble in the defeat.

On the special team's side, Zac Cost (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) punted six times for 196 yards with one landing in the opponents 20-yard line. Jeremiah Ortiz (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) had a 25-yard field goal.

Moravian

The Moravian University Greyhounds (1-3) are coming off a narrow loss to Morrisville State College, 20-19.

Jared Jenkins completed 20 passes for 198 with two touchdowns and an interception. Brad Bryan was the Greyhounds leading receiver with 6 catches for 85 yards and two scores. Running back Nate Boyle ran for 63 yards with one touchdown.

Chris Ortalano led Moravian with eight tackles. He also had a sack in last week's game. Isaiah Johnson and Damere Rooker combined for 14 tackles. Ethan O'Neill recovered a fumble.

Trailing 20-13 in the fourth quarter, Moravian was able to find the endzone with a Jenkins passing touchdown to make the score, 20-19. However, the Greyhounds were unsuccessful on the extra point. Moravian had opportunity to take the lead, but an interception by the Mustangs defense gave Morrisville State the victory.

After a two-week hiatus, Keystone returns to La Plume as they host nationally ranked Susquehanna University in the team's Homecoming game next Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.
