LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team opened 2024 with a 90-84 win over Cairn University Wednesday afternoon in United East action.
Keystone moves to 4-9 (4-1 United East Skye Division) while Cairn slides to 7-4 (2-2 United East Skye Division).
Once again, Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) was the leading scorer for Keystone with 31 points and six rebounds. Brandon Scott (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) recorded 18 points with eight rebounds. D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) posted a double-double with 12 points with 10 rebounds. Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western), DaShaun Johnson (Montgomery Village, Md./Clarksburg), and Tyler Fox (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) combined for 26 points. Ayers contributed with seven rebounds and seven assists.
For Cairn, Derian Bradford had a phenomenal day on the court as he tallied a game high 41 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Christian Rivera finished with 13 points and six assists. Owen Bradford had 12 points and six rebounds.
Keystone was up 48-37 at the conclusion of the first half. Cairn gradually crawled their way back into the conference matchup. Despite outscoring the Giants 47-42 in the second half, the Highlanders came up short and Keystone pulled away with the victory.
The Giants head to Rosemont College on Saturday, Jan. 6 with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
