Football Concludes 2024 Season with 43-38 Loss to Juniata

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College football team's 2024 season ended as they suffered a painful loss to Juniata College 43-38 Saturday afternoon at the Keystone College Turf Field.

Keystone finishes the season 1-9 (0-6 Landmark) while Juniata moves to 2-7 (1-4 Landmark). The team honored its seniors prior to the start of the game.

Donald Leach III (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) threw for 289 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) rushed for 137 yards with two scores. Da'Jaun Vales (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling), Jayson Nami (Freehold Township, N.J./Freehold Township), and Jorden Cook (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz) recorded a receiving touchdown.

Defensively, the Giants had three players finish with double-digit sacks as Quentin Tibbs (New Brunswick, N.J./New Brunswick) led the way with 16 (eight solo and eight assists). CJ Riccobono (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial) and Nicholas DeFrancesco (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) combined for 23 tackles. DeFrancesco and Shakur Cater both had an interception.

Kicker Jeremiah Ortiz (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) was a perfect five-for-five on field goal attempts and converted a 29-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Juniata's quarterback Calvin German completed 38 passes for 394 yards with three touchdowns and two picks. German rushed for a touchdown as well. Hunter Wolfley rushed for 91 yards and a score. Sean Hakanson was the team's leading receiver as he recorded 135 yards and two touchdowns. He caught the game winning touchdown with 19 seconds left in the game.

The Eagles defense had some key moments as Logan Williams recovered a fumble and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown. Ethan Shank called as he tallied a last second pick to secure the victory. Dillon Wakefield led the way with 12 tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss as well as half a sack.

The Giants held a 35-15 at halftime but were outscored 28-3 in the second half.
