LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's lacrosse team secured their second victory of the season with a 13-11 win over Albertus Magnus College Wednesday afternoon.
The Giants move to 2-0 while the Falcons suffer their first defeat of the season and go to 1-1.
Both Tyler McManus (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) and Abe Wallace (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada/Foothills Composite) both recorded a hat trick and two assists for five points. Cam Wallace (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada/Foothills Composite) also scored a hat trick as well. Ryan Smith (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Wilson Ingalls (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada/Holy Trinity Academy) both contributed with two goals and one assist. Austin Griffiths (Ponoka, Alberta, Canada/Ponoka Secondary Campus) tallied a game high three assists.
Smith, Tyler Shertzer (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area), and Timmy Fisher (Trevose, Pa./Neshaminy) combined for 13 caused turnovers. Cody Dembski (Agoura Hills, Calif./Agoura) won 10 faceoffs and recorded 12 groundballs. Chris Armas (Vancouver, Wash./Mountain View) claimed seven faceoff wins.
For Albertus Magnus, Cooper Strecker led the Falcons with four goals and two assists. Bailey Kirwin notched a hat trick and two assists.
With the game tied at nine at the end of the third quarter, Keystone was able to outscore their opponent 4-2 in the fourth to pull away with the victory. The Giants had a 73 percent (24-of-33) success rate on clear attempts. They posted a 52-38 shot margin in the contest.Â
Keystone heads to SUNY Delhi next Wednesday, Mar. 6 at 6 p.m.
