LA PLUME, Pa. – A hard fought battle between Keystone and Wilson ended with a 69-61 victory for Keystone in their conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
With this win, Keystone's Giants improve to a 10-12 record on the season and an 8-7 record in the United East conference. On the flip side, the Phoenix are now looking at an overall record of 11-11 on the season and 10-5 in the United East conference.
Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) Put up an impressive 25 points in Saturday afternoon's game while also helping the team defensively with three steals and 7 rebounds. Bry Hicks (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) also walked away from the game Saturday with a double-double, putting up 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds on the day. Lastly, Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) showed some strong abilities as a team player as she came away with seven assists and four steals in the Giants' victory.
For Wilson College, the team's point leaders were spread out pretty evenly. Laela Robnson put up 15, Allie Cullison put up 14, and Jewels Torres put up 12. Defensively the team was led by Laela Robnson who came away with nine defensive rebounds while Adrianna Stricek also had nine rebounds on the day, four of which were on defense.
Keystone women's basketball will be on the road to Langhorne, PA to take on Cairn University in another conference matchup on Wednesday, February 7. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
