LANGHORNE, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball secured a key United East victory as they defeated Cairn University on the road 109-102 Wednesday evening.
Keystone moves to 9-13 (9-5 United East Skye Division). Cairn drops to 13-10 (7-7 United East Skye Division).
The 109 points recorded tonight is the fourth most points scored in a single game in program history.
Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) towered the Giants offense with 23 points and three assists. Brandon Scott (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) added 21 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Fox (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) came up huge off the bench as he scored 19 points and shot 60 percent from the field. John Brice (Saint Augustine, Fla./Menendez) and Justin Hill (Deltona, Fla./Mainland) added 11 and 10 points, respectively. D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) and Kandyn Ayers combined for 17 points and 17 rebounds.
Cairn was led by Aytor Alberto who had a great night on the court with 35 points and five rebounds. Derian Brandford contributed 26 points and eight rebounds. Moses Ilodigwe provided 21 points in 24 minutes of action.
Keystone held a 53-43 lead after one half. Despite the Highlanders narrowly outscoring the Giants 59-56 in the second half, their second half comeback efforts fell short. Keystone shot 65.6 percent in this evening's conference contest. They outrebounded Cairn, 36-31.
The Giants will host Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. in the team's final regular season home game.
