AUBURNDALE, FL.- The Keystone College baseball team kicked off their Spring break trip in style with a dominating 14-1 victory over Utica University Saturday afternoon.
Keystone moves to 2-3 and Utica drops to 3-3.
Justin Mann (St. John's, Fla./Bartram Trail) went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Darren Hagan (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley) went 2-for-4 with five RBI. He hit a grand slam for the second straight game and had an RBI triple. Chase Boyle (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) and Andy Rivas (Bronx, N.Y./Academy for Language and Technology) also had two hits on the afternoon. Boyle finished the game with two RBI.Â
Quinn Holt (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) picked up his first win of the season as he went five innings with eight strikeouts. He allowed four hits and one earned run. Ryan McCauley (Stuart, Fla./South Park) and Anthony Mierez (Granby, Conn./Rockville) both pitched an inning of relief as Mierez recorded a strikeout.
Keystone is back in action tomorrow as they play two games. The Giants will face Widener University at 9 a.m. followed by Lakeland University at 12:15 p.m.
