Baseball Earns Series Sweep Against the Ravens with Two Wins on the Road

ROSEMONT, Pa. – After defeating Rosemont 18-8 at home, Keystone baseball kept their foot on the gas as they won two more games in a double-header at Rosemont.

Game 1: Keystone 8, Rosemont 7

Keystone quickly put three runs on the board in the second inning of game one after Justin Mann (St. John's, Fla./Bartram Trail) reached base on an error and Robert Estrada (Maracay, Venezuela/Ferris) scored on the same play. Shortly after, Chase Boyle (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) picked up a two RBI single to put the Giants ahead 3-1.

The Ravens answered with three runs in the fifth, but in the top of the sixth the Giants added another three followed by one more in the seventh. The Giants ended up winning game one with a final score of 8-7.

On the mound, Brayan Villar (West Orange, N.J./Belleville) picked up his sixth win of the season after striking out four batters in five innings pitched. Slothing Che (Santo Domingo, D.R./Instituto Tecnologico Fabio Amable Mota) came in to relieve Villar and struck out two batters in one inning. Finally, Mathhew McElligott closed out the game with one strikeout in one inning pitched.

Game 2: Keystone 15, Rosemont 2

Keystone put on an offensive showing in game two of this double header as they finished out the series with another strong victory. Darren Hagan (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley) put Keystone ahead early with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. Robert Estrada (Maracay, Venezuela/Ferris) led the team with four RBI with a two RBI triple in the fourth inning and a two RBI single in the sixth.

Nick Gravel (Sidney, N.Y./Sidney) got the start for the Giants in game two and struck out four batters in 3.1 innings pitched, while only giving up one hit. Dylan Byler (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) came in to relieve Gravel and was credited with his second win of the season after striking out four batters in 2.1 innings pitched. Cruz Hamilton (Scottsdale, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) closed out the second game with three strikeouts in 1.1 innings pitched.

What's Next

The Giants still have two non-conference games left in the regular season as they will be back home on Tuesday, April 30 to take on Alvernia University at 3:30 PM. Following that game they will have one more on the road at Neumann University on Wednesday, May 1 at 3:30 PM.
