ASTON, Pa. – Keystone baseball traveled down to Aston, Pennsylvania for one last non-conference game in the regular season. In this game, Keystone came out on top with a final score of 8-5
The Giants jumped ahead in the third inning of this one when Robert Estrada (Maracay, Venezuela/Ferris) picked up one RBI on a single up the middle, and Justin Mann (St. John's, Fla./Bartram Trail) picked up two more with a double down the left field line. Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) also picked up an RBI single in the fourth, and Hunter Rauch (Lincoln, Del./Cape Henlopen) earned one from a sacrifice fly to right field in the ninth.
Slothing Che (Santo Domingo, D.R./Instituto Tecnologico Fabio Amable Mota) got the start for Keystone on the mound and struck out three batters in two innings while allowing zero runs. Drew Sorrentino (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) came in to pitch in the third and was credited with the win for this game, moving his record to 3-0 on the season.
What's Next
Championship play for the United East Conference will start on Friday, May 3rd and will be hosted at Keystone College. Keystone, Rosemont, Wilson, and Cairn will all be playing in a double-elimination tournament over the weekend with games starting at 12:00 PM on Friday at Christy Mathewson Field.
