Men’s Soccer Suffers Road Setback at William Paterson

WAYNE, N.J.- The Keystone College men's soccer team were defeated on the road to William Paterson University 3-0 Wednesday afternoon at Pioneer Soccer Park.

Keystone falls to 1-6 while William Paterson moves to 5-0-2.

Goalkeeper Landon Keller (Provo, Utah/Timpview) recorded five saves in the defeat. The Pioneers had three different goal scorers with all their goals coming in the first half.

Diego Navas scored the first goal in the 16th minute off an assist by Matthew Escobar. A little over ten minutes later, Jakub Paszczyk found the back of the net off a pass from Enzo Diaz. Filippo Dapelo tallied the final goal of the contest in the 43rd minute with Escobar and Paszczyk earning the assist.

William Paterson outshot Keystone, 21-2. Sean-Samuel Pessinaba (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) and Morade Mama (Jersey City, N.J./Hudson Catholic) recorded the lone shots. The Pioneers had a 8-1 advantage on corner kicks. Three yellow cards were given in the match.

The Giants head to Maryland to take on Salisbury University in their final nonconference match of the season. The contest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m.
