Keystone Football Week Three Preview: St. John Fisher

PITTSFORD, N.Y.- The Keystone College football team will hit the road for their week three game as they take on St. John Fisher University on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m.

Keystone faced St. John Fisher last year at home where the Cardinals came away with a 35-20 win.

Keystone (1-1) are coming off a dominant win in their home opener a week ago as they defeated Hartwick College, 51-26.

The Giants' offense put up massive numbers in the win over Hartwick, gaining 579 yards of total offense. Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) had a sensational game as he recorded 246 all-purpose yards with 186 of them coming from the ground. He had four total touchdowns (three rushing & one receiving). Due to his strong performance, he was named Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Donald Leach III (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) also had a big day as he threw for a school record 356 yards with two touchdowns. The senior quarterback ran for a touchdown as well. Jayson Nami (Freehold Township, N.J./Freehold Township) tallied 115 receiving yards with one score. 

On the defensive side, CJ Riccobono (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial) had a two-interception game and broke up two passes. Quentin Tibbs (New Brunswick, N.J./New Brunswick) had a game high eight total tackles and forced a fumble.

Kicker Jeremiah Ortiz (Scranton, Pa./Scranton), the reigning Landmark Specialist of the Week, was a perfect six-for-six on extra points and made a 39-yard field goal.

St. John Fisher

The St. John Fisher University Cardinals (0-1) are coming off their bye week. The team lost to Marietta College 55-0 in their opening contest of the 2024 season.

Quarterback Ryan Whitney threw for 68 yards. Defensively, Isaiah Bertz, Tim Vanderbrink, and Joe Miscia all had eight total tackles. Defensive back Gavin Motto forced a fumble late in the game. Punter Kyle Farewell averaged 40.7 yards per punt.

What's Next

The Giants will return to La Plume to host Hobart College in their final nonconference game of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28 at 12 p.m.
