SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa.- The Keystone College women's soccer picked up win number two of the 2024 campaign as they defeated Penn State Schuylkill 4-1 Tuesday afternoon.
With the victory, Keystone moves to 2-5 while Penn State Schuylkill drops to 2-3-1.
Victory Frantz (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) scored twice in the contest with both goals coming in the second half. The sophomore found the back of the net in the 64th and 74th minute. Brooke Freni (Glendora, N.J./Triton Regional) added a PK goal in the 32nd minute. Freni and Abigail Bateman (Edmeston, N.Y./Edmeston Central) both tallied an assist. Goalkeeper Annie Metzger (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) was busy in goal as she made 17 saves and surrendered one goal.
The Nittany Lion's only goal came from Olivia Dress who scored in the 23rd minute with the assist credited to Brittney Holland.
Penn State Schuylkill posted a 17-9 margin on shots and had a 11-6 advantage on corner kicks.
The Giants open United East Conference play at home on Sunday, Sept. 29 against Penn State Harrisburg at 12 p.m.
