Vandermark Scores in Double Overtime Loss to Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa.- The Keystone College field hockey team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss to Misericordia University Friday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Giants drop to 0-2 while Misericordia improves to 2-1.

Jordan Vandermark (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) scored the lone goal for Keystone which came late in the fourth quarter off an assist from Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit). Goalkeeper Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) made three saves in the defeat.

For the Cougars, Lily Metress tallied a goal in the fourth quarter with Madison Blauch being credited with an assist. Celeste Hoffman scored the game winner in the second overtime period to give Misericordia the victory.

Keystone edged Misericordia in both shots and penalty corners. They held a 12-11 margin on shots and a 11-10 advantage on penalty corners. Three Misericordia players received green cards in Friday night's contest.

The Giants next match up will be on Monday, Sept. 9 as they head to the Electric City to face the University of Scranton at 7 p.m.
